About
How does Diode Laser work? Selective photothermolysis occurs under the influence of emitted laser light. The light from the diode laser destroys the hair’s nourishing cells, preventing hair from growing again and regenerating. This method is the best known in the world because the laser was created for epilation fast, durable, healthy (no chemicals) and practically painless. This ensures the high power of a uniform (not dispersed) laser beam, a sufficiently long pulse duration, and a unique way to cool the skin.
During a single treatment, 20 to 40% of the hair can be permanently removed, the differences are due to factors such as:
- hair color,
- thickness and density of hair,
- skin phototype,
- depilation site and the growth phase in which the hair is currently located.
Dark, thick hair is most effectively removed because it contains a lot of dye and the laser beam conductance deep into the skin (from 1 to 5 mm.) Is greater than for lighter hair. These conditions affect the number of treatments performed, from 3 to 7 visits. Treatments are repeated at intervals depending on the depilated part of the body, from 4 to 10 weeks. Any part of the body can be depilation. All conducted research on the effectiveness of hair removal devices prove that LIGHTSheer ET by LUMENIS is a global leader in this field.
Preparation for the procedure:
- During a visit to the Cabinet, an interview with the client is carried out, we set the expectations of the person interested in the procedure, we exclude contraindications for the procedure, we determine the skin phototype, we set up the Customer Card, (we print available from us) we carry out a laser test.
- It is important during the consultation to inform the client about the pre-surgery procedure. The application of the described recommendations will allow to achieve high quality and effectiveness of the treatments as well as protect against possible complications.
- Naturally or artificially tanned skin (solarium, self-tanner) excludes the procedure, you should opt out of tanning at least 3 weeks before the planned procedure.
- Therapy with antibiotics or steroids, requires a minimum of 4 weeks before epilation. In contrast, contraception and medications used during menopause do not prevent you from performing the procedure.
- Approx. 4 weeks before planned hair treatment should not be pulled mechanically (epilator, wax, tweezers) because the essence of an effective treatment is the hair visible on the skin. Hair before the procedure can be shaved, trimmed or depilated with cream, although its use should be stopped at least a week before the procedure, because it contains a strong chemical composition.
- Cosmetics containing Vit.A, retinoids, Vit.C or fruit acids should be discontinued at the place of planned epilation for about 4 weeks before the procedure.
- Exfoliating cosmetics are set aside a week before the procedure.
- Light sensitizing drugs (some antidepressants) and herbs with this effect (St. John’s wort, calendula, herbs that regulate digestion) require discontinuation before the procedure for 2 weeks.
- Care treatments (cleansing, masks, etc.) on the depilated area should be planned 7 days before the procedure and 14 days after it.
- Retinoid therapy (strong steroids used to treat acne) requires a six-month break before surgery.
- Skin infections (viral, fungal, bacterial) exclude the possibility of performing the procedure.
- A few days before the procedure, the client should not shave the hair at the depilation site, this will allow the staff to assess the hair.
- The surface of the skin should be clean and not irritated. If the skin is dry and rough, apply moisturizing creams a few days before the procedure. Dry epidermis retains laser light and may cause burns.
Contraindications for the procedure:
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding
- Vitiligo, active skin infections
- Very light or red hair
- Cancer
- Steroid and antibiotic treatment.
